Project Description:
I am creating a fantasy world called 'Music City', which will involve everything relating to creating/listening to music. I originally wanted to make it all about the 2000s (hence the iPods, and Napster logo, etc.) but It would have been to exclusive, so I expanded it to include streaming, musical instruments, performances with an audience, etc.
The idea came about because I am a fan of music in general (mostly all genres, but mainly Alternative Rock) and I am working on my own music app as my capstone project, so I figured why not extend it into my VR learning experience.
Still do not know how the interactive components will come into play, but as the semester goes on I hope to improve this world, and make changes, etc.
Testing Scene [Screenshots Below]
I wanted to get good practice using Unity for world design, so I first created a test world to purge some ideas using music motifs such as instruments, iPods, CDs, phones, etc.
ASSETS:
• For the wall of iPods, I made my own assets using primitive cubes, and creating the iPod wheel using Adobe Illustrator, and using 2d Sprites and basically multiplying the iPods and changing the color, although I think I should create prefabs instead to save time.
• The musical instruments I got them from the asset store, as well as the statues.
• The CDs are also my own asset, made with sprites and transparent cubes
• I used Unity store FREE assets to build the city and parks
• I used a simple script for rotating objects from my AR class
